Longing

I lay awake in the dead of night
Longing for daybreak
Longing for light

Darkness scares me causing me to quiver
Making me cold
Making me shiver

Someday someone may give me a home
No longer hungry
No longer alone

I wish, I wish I had a nice warm bed
With a nice soft pillow
Just to lay my head

I wish I had a Mother and a Father as well
Someone to talk to
Someone to tell

Maybe I'll be lucky
Maybe I'll not
Maybe the darkness.............. is all I've got.

'Bitter Sweet Within my Heart'

A tisket, a tasket
What's in your casket?

The heart of my husband,
said Lady Devorgilla.

A tisket, a tasket
What's in your basket?

The head of my mistress,
said Queen Mary's dog.

A tisket, a tasket,
Don't ask it, don't ask it.

Some memories are secret,
you don't want to know.

Liz Niven
