Memories
My mom lasted only 5 months with liver cancer. Diagnosed in June 2004
and died in December 2004. We brought her home from the hospice for the
last two weeks of her life and I will never trade these two weeks for
all the world. ALL 7 daughters and my Dad attending to my mom for 14
days.
My mom was given a week to live when we
brought her home. When she surpassed the week timeline the Hospice
nurse was convinced that my mom was already in heaven with all her
family around her for 2 straight weeks. The hospice experience allowed
for an already "extremely close" family to become even closer.
If I can find a positive with losing my
mother to cancer it would be the strength of my family and the love of
my father.
